After the release of their last year's much-noticed EP "Nothing But Memories”, Downstairs Left have now finished their debut album on which the band around the charismatic singer Hayle consequently continues improving the musical style presented on the EP.
The 10 album tracks plus three bonus tracks, a. o. a very intense and well done cover version of No Comment's "Typewritten Life", illustrate that melancholic gothic wave can be celebrated without bombast and pompous gestures.
“Waiting For The Golden Age” displays a cosy and melancholic atmosphere that seems to waft through the whole album like a pleasant haze.
Being riddled with wonderful melodies and borne by singer Haye's prominent voice that is easy to remember, the songs demonstrate that acoustically produced music can still be timeless and does not have to smarm over any current trends.
Downstairs Left succeed in creating a modern, powerful and expressive acoustic wave goth album that is able to open up more and more after every round of listening.

Nothing But Memories EP
Downstairs Left’s music is like a beautifully sad shadow that wraps the listerner in soft melancholy. The songs are full of these fateful emotions that are familiar to everyone and nobody can hide or walk away from them. With the first tones of the EP you find yourself in this world of full of passion and dreams but which is also full of pain and sorrow. It feels like you are standing on the edge of something and you do not know what to do next. But despite all the sadness the tunes leave you with this feeling of hope, that something can change and that it is getting better and that maybe all will be fine in the end. You will always go on and on and on and you will never stop.
Being that profound and emotionally deep the three musicians Hayle
(songwriting and vocals) , Eld ( guitar) and Sewin (bass) manage that their songs will linger on in your memory for a long time. And even the more experimental sounds are too catchy to forget them. When listening to the EP you really notice that the guys from Downstairs Left have been making music before they formed this band in 2007.
The limited EP “Nothing but Memories“ with its tight atmosphere is a very harmoinious fortaste of what can be expected of Donstairs Left’s album which will be released in early 2010.
