Les Fleurs du Mal is a Rock Noir constellation of two brothers, Axel and August Grim, from Stockholm, Sweden. The duo delivers strong drum-machine throbbing, guitar driven tracks steeped in dark keyboards. They are catchy yet sligthly reserved. Axel Grim’s voice, in its cold hardness, echoes the chillingly bleak realities of our age. The sound is both contemporary, yet carries with it the heritage of the goth rock pioneers of the eighties.

The time has come! The new album of the Swedish band Les Fleurs Du Mal is at the ready. Like no other band the Stockholm band knows on “Concrete Ravings” how to combine gripping gothic rock with clever melodies and irresistible hooks like they did on their last releases “Knife In My Back” (EP) and “I”.
The first track “A Remorseful Day“ already sets the agenda for the following songs and the listener won’t be disappointed: The post-punk dancefloor track “Stink” would have sit well on the Sisters Of Mercy during their Floodland times for example while the finest goth-popà la Lucifire lies dormant in the really groovy “Concrete Ravings”.
The brothers Axel and August Grimm founded Les Fleurs Du Mal as a duo in Stockholm / Sweden. On their first CD “I“ they already demonstrate their matchless sound cosmos consisting of highly melodic guitars, dancefloor rhythms and dedicated lyrics. Les Fleurs Du Mal are testament to the fact that dark rock can be varied, fit for the dancefloor and ambitious all at the same time.

The Swedish project Les Fleurs Du Mal is a black and white rock band from the hardening social reality of Stockholm, Sweden.
A platform for musical, emotional and political expression as conceived and performed by Axel Grim.
The music is inspired by classic gothic and dark-wave tunes from the 80s (e.g. very early Sisters Of Mercy), but adds modern elements and melodies to this genre for a more variable overall sound.
The gates into the still-slumbering world of Les Fleurs Du Mal will be opened on 06/05/2011 and every lover of dark music is invited to take part when "I" is preparing to enrich the scene with another nuance of authenticity
