Vienna, September 4th 2011 – One year after the sensational debut with his solo pro-ject Lost in Desire, the Viennese artist Stephan Sutor releases the remix album Reborn from the Ashes, on which every song of the preceding album obtains a remix version.
After the success of the self-titled debut album which has been brought to daylight in Spring 2010, Stephan releases the remix album Reborn from the Ashes in October 2011. The musical range of the result could not be wider, as no boundaries were set to creativity. No facet of dark sounds has been left out and thus Future Pop, Industrial, EBM, Dark Am-bient, Gothic Rock, Minimal, Trance and Experimental are assembled on one single CD. Two EPs were already released as harbingers for the remix album. In December 2010 The Vampire EP was released and contained, besides numerous versions of the song, two danceable remixes by the dark electro project Assemblage 23 and the electro chart break-ers Silicon Brothers. In April the I Am You EP followed with the fabulous remix by the Norwegian synthpop rockers Apoptygma Berzerk, who turned the sombre original into a club hit. Subsequently, due to such an amount of remix-enthusiasm, the whole album rose like a phoenix from the ashes.
Stephan was able to enthuse 11 outstanding artists who created their own versions of the originals to work on Reborn from the Ashes. Ashley Dayour, mastermind of Whispers in the Shadow, and Stephan are not only connected by their common passion for music, but also by friendship. Thus, it is hardly surprising that Ashley spared no efforts for his reinterpretation and recorded almost all instruments and even the vocals anew.
The Born for Bliss remix was created by the goth legend Frank Weyzig, who rocked the guitar in Clan Of Xymox as one of the original members of the band and who added a heart-breaking instrumental aspect to the original song. The hardest remix was employed by Ted Phelps for his project Imperative Reaction and also Romell Regulacion, godfa-ther of dark electro and trance, made a contribution that perfectly reflects the style Razed in Black, which has been marking the project’s success since many decades. A minimal remix was supplied by Vienna DC, and Michael Konrad and Gregor Ugovsek, who al-ready worked with celebrities like Kylie Minogue and Tom Jones, were in charge of the mix. David Pfister, the institution of the Austrian radio station FM4 and passionate musi-cian made the most extravagant contribution and “slaughtered the pop format” in his ex-perimental ambient mix.
Presenting so much versatility and coherence, Lost in Desire sets a new benchmark as to what a remix album has to sound like.

Reviews - Lost In Desire Album:
"[...]Von Stephan R. Sutor alias LOST IN DESIRE sollte auf jeden Fall einiges mehr zu hören sein. Im Verlaufe dieser Karriere dürfte noch so manches weitere Kapitel aufgeschlagen werden.[...]" (Hooked On Music)
(Nachtaktiv Magazin)
Lost In Desire
After working on various other projects during the last few years multi-instrumentalist Stephan S will release his first self-titled album on ECHOZONE. He is also responsible for remixing the recent single of the Austrian sing-er/songwriter Eva K. Anderson, who just recently reached the charts with “A Sound of Silence”.
“Lost in Desire” combines classic guitar wave with an opulent pop sound and exactly the right portion of melancholy. The 11 songs on the album have a certain natural charm thanks to the excellent production, the brilliant vocals and the variety of sounds the songs have to offer.
The songs of "Lost in Desire" use an epic wall of sound (e.g. "Vampire" or "I am you") as well as some lighter wave-pop songs ("Walking on Air"). You can always discover something new in every song on the album.
How do you reduce this variegated and divergent conglomerate of ideas and songs to a common denominator?
Stephan S: “I chose the songs, which express my feelings the best and carry the most important messages. Each song reflects a different emotion or world. During the development other songs were added to process and make the album perfect. Therefore the first track “Vampire” might seem a lot different compared to the last one “I am Drama” especially in musical way. Nevertheless when you look at it as a cycle of Emotions, the wish to be immortal isn’t that far away from Drama and with that the wheal has come full circle.”
