Northern Sadness
Belgium, Summer 2010. July 3th. Dead Poets' singer Koen De Brabander & bassplayer Philippe Lefief decide to join forces: out of the ashes of Dead Poets rose Northern Sadness. A new dark electro band, for which they started writing songs that very day.
One month later recording begins at Philippe's Bear Cave Studios. The new songs of the duo are received with much enthusiasm by a close circle of intimate friends & gothic lovers, called 'The Test Team'. A fan page is made public through Facebook where, once again, a broader public receives the songs with much excitement.
On june15th 2011 Northern Sadness signs a recording contract with German recordlabelECHOZONE to release their debut album called "Riddles Of Lunacy" in autumn 2011. The 14 songs of the album combine various styles of dake electronic wave music, from dark-hypnotic tracks like "All This Noise", slow, dark and moody songs ("Poets And Angels", "I Remember You Pretty") to more industrial-electro ("And What To Believe"). Singer Koen's dark and intimate voice joins perfectly with the transparent electronic soundscapes created.
As a special song the band has recorded the 80s Red Zebra classic "I Can't Live In A Living Room", which was transformed into an impulsive uptempo electronic dance track.
Previous to the album release a special download EP will be released on October 14th called "All This Noise EP". The six-track EP will include the title track, two additional remixes and three exclusive tracks.
